CEO at HOSPICE Casa Sperantei

Mirela Nemtanu is the CEO of HOSPICE Casa Sperantei since 2016, the largest medical foundation in Romania that provides palliative care services for patients suffering from incurable diseases and life-limited diagnostics. The NGO offered till now free-of-charge palliative care support for more than 45.000 patients and more than 100.000 families members.

Since taking over the management of the foundation, Mirela succeed to double the number of patients, open another Hospice’s center and coordinate the obtaining of more than EUR 35 million – money completely dedicated to providing free palliative care services to incurable patients. At the same time, in 2021, HOSPICE Casa Sperantei received the recognition of “Hospital of the Year” from the Romanian Healthcare Awards. In 2023, The President of Romania confers the Order of Merit for the Promotion of Human Rights and Social Commitment in the rank of “Commander” to HOSPICE Casa Sperantei Foundation.

Mirela has almost 20 years of experience in the field of multinationals and large private organizations, being part of their top-management teams for many years. Since 2003 she has been actively involved in supporting CSR projects of the companies she was part of or partner organizations and she is member of different organization dedicated to different social causes.

She has received numerous awards and recognitions and since 2021 she has been included in Forbes Romania’s “Top 50 Most Influential Women in Romania.
